Pink Bunny News Gossip Tips August 16, 2008

Enjoying your Saturday? I am and so are the celebs.

Here is what people are talking about this weekend...

Congratulations to our girl Ellen DeGeneres! According to Usmagazine.com, Ellen will wed her longtime love Portia de Rossi this weekend. The two have been together since 2004. After the Supreme Court ruling that same sex partners had the right to marry, Ellen announced on her show that the two would be marrying. We just didn't know when. We are extremely happy for them. Ellen has such a genuine and nice personality that all we can do is wish her much happiness. Can you believe Ellen is 50? She looks so young and is always dancing around like she is still in her twenties it's hard to believe.

Speaking of 50, today is one of my idol's birthdays today! Madonna turns 50 today, and couldn't look any better! Word is that she is even trying to adopt another child from Malawi. More power to her. I am a lot younger and apparently more tired than she because I can't imagine having any babies at 50. I just want to give it up to Madonna because of her ability to always re-invent herself. I can remember rocking the lace headbands, and fingerless gloves trying to keep up. Because of her, I have learned to do the same and feel no pain about it. She works hard, is a good mother and is still on the grind making money and putting on good shows. She is truly an icon, and we wish her the happiest of birthdays!

Madonna and Ellen are in very good company. There are a host of beautiful and successful women who are at the fifty mark. Angela Bassett, Fran Drescher, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Sharon Stone are all 50. These women look better than most women half their ages. Kudos to them for not only living well and preserving their looks, but for having successful careers and still being fierce contenders in Hollywood.

11 months after filing for divorce it looks like Shaquille O'Neal and his wife Shaunie have reconciled. Shaunie told Associated Press that things had been going so well that they forgot that they had filed the divorce papers. She says that they are going to do away with the papers before they leave Florida in a few days. Shaq & Shaunie have four children together. After all of the nasty allegations those two were making against one another, it's good that they were able to get past their differences and focus on what's most important. And Shaunie says their family is the priority.

In Olympic news, if you haven't been keeping up with Michael Phelps, you need to get on board. This guy is exciting to watch! Along with eating 12,000 calories/day and winning 7 gold medals, he shares my obsession with the ipod. This guy is truly interesting. Everything I've read makes me want to know more about him. He seems really nice and family oriented. His mother and sister are always in the stands cheering him on, and he cheers on his team members like they are his brothers. Have you seen him compete? He swims like a fish. Backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke...he does it all. I must admit that the 12,000 calories was what initially got my attention. He trains so hard that he burns that many calories? His last competition where he did the 200m butterfly, he came back from behind and won by an eyelash! He is putting on a phenomenal show over in Beijing and is firmly positioned to beat the record of 7 gold medals in one Olympic Game set by Mark Spitz of which he is currently tied. I don't normally partake in the Olympic hype, but I will make it my business to watch this guy compete.

Tip of the Day:

Goodbye Fruit Flies To get rid of pesky fruit flies, take a small glass, fill it 1/2" with Apple Cider Vinegar and 2 drops of dish washing liquid; mix well. You will find those flies drawn to the cup and gone forever!

That's all for now. Have a Great Saturday!

-Paige
