The days are getting shorter :-(
Here is what people are talking about this weekend...
Breaking News:
The body of Isaac Hayes was found in Memphis Tenn. near a running treadmill. The cause of death is unknown at this time. Hayes was famous as one of the innovators of Disco. His hit theme song "Shaft" won both Academy Awards and Grammys. Mr. Hayes was only 65 years old and had strangely enough just finished a movie with Sam Jackson and Bernie Mac who passed away on Saturday. Our deepest sympathy to his family.
We were saddened by the passing of Actor and Comedian Bernie Mac on Saturday. We reported earlier that he was expected to make a full recovery. Apparently those reports were a bit premature. The 50 year old Mac, was admitted to the hospital on July 24, which is 8 days earlier than previously reported by his publicist. Bernie Mac had a lung disease called Sarcoidosis, but it was said to be in remission. It was said that Bernie Mac was on new meds that suppressed his immune system, making him susceptible to infection which is how he developed the pneumonia in the first place. He was gravely ill from the time he was admitted. Upon his arrival he was put on a ventilator to breathe for him although he was said to be conscious. While in the hospital he caught a new strain of pneumonia and went into cardiac arrest twice before he succumbed to his death. Bernie Mac is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rhonda, and his daughter Je'Niece. His family has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Bernie Mac Foundation for Sarcoidosis, 40 E. Ninth St., Suite 601, Chicago IL 60605. We are truly sorry for the family's loss. Mr. Mac was one of the greatest comedians of our time, and we will miss him. Thanks for the laughs.
Over in Beijing, the 2008 Olympics have begun! Never a dull moment at the Olympics, there is a lot to tell. Mariel Zagunis won the first gold medal for the US in Women's Saber Fencing. The silver medal in that event went to Sada Jacobson (US). And Becca Ward (US) took took the bronze medal. In other Olympic updates, NBC is showing the event to west coast viewers on a time delay. Viewers are frustrated and complaining about not being able to see some of the most popular events. Also, there was a stabbing at the 13th Century Drum Tower on Saturday. The victims were parents of 2004 volleyball Olympian Elisabeth "Wiz" Bachman and in
-laws of U.S. men's volleyball coach Hugh McCutcheon. Todd and Barbara Bachman of Lakeville, Minn. (shown at right) along with their tour guide, were viciously stabbed by a Chinese man who was said to be distraught over family problems. Mrs. Bachman sustained serious injuries, and Mr. Bachman passed away from his wounds. The assailant leaped to his death immediately after the attack. Security has been tightened, but maybe too little, too late.

Reopening envelope If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. It unseals easily.
Well I hope you are rested and ready to make a difference this week! Be extraordinary!
